Dior 'Le Croisette' 5-Color Palette Aurora #654

Dior 'Le Croisette' 5-Color Palette Aurora #654 ($60.00)

"Inspired by the art de vivre of the French Riviera, the Dior Croisette Collection combines the peace of the French countryside with the splendor of Saint Tropez Adorned with sunbursts, the Le Croisette palettes are inspired by the sophisticated signature pleating technique used on the fabric of Dior dresses. The Aurora harmony is a warm collection inspired by a day spent sunbathing on the beach."
-By Dior.(www.dior.com)

I received this palette today and I was super excited! The tracking number stated that it was delivered on the 9th so I was starting to wonder, but it arrived today in one piece on 6/12.  So once I got through the tape, box flaps and package peanuts, there it was revealed to me in all of its glory, this beautiful stunning palette.  Once I removed it from the velvet pouch and opened this palette I saw it in all of its splendor and decadent sheen looks- looking like something I would love to consume if it were food. It looks like perfectly intricately designed 'eye' candy. Scroll down for swatches and thoughts........
The DIOR Campaign for the Summer 2012 Collection

Saint Tropez, France...wish I were there now...I can see where the inspiration came from in the colors...just beautiful!!!

My thoughts on the Aurora Palette:
  1. The 1st swatched the cooper color which is by far the standout, it's pigmentation is amazing , as as with all of these, i love how they just glow which the camera just doesn't capture well. It swatched very smooth and silky.I would rate this color 5 out of 5 for consistency, pigmentation, and ease of application
  2. The 2nd color swatched was the whitish color, which swatched not as smooth as the others considering this would most likely be the highlight  color. It has that lustrious glowy effect as well. I would give this color 3 out of 5 marks.
  3. In the center is a very pastel pink, which I think would be great on the lid. It has a somewhat tinge of silver in it, runs cool toned. This color is soft and blendable swiped a tad chalky as I find the  center shade in the Dior palettes to do, so there is some fallout when applying. I give this color 3 out of 5 marks.
  4. The true gold color is exactly that bright and luxuriously perfect for those goddess summer looks you will create with this, the quality is superb and is a standout! I give it 5 out of 5 for sure.
  5. The last color a bronzed brown I find matches my skin tone, my skin but better kind of way, so its good for dark skin girls like myself to play with the neutral look. Its a soft pliable pigmented color and I rate it 5 out of 5.
Overall this palette is great if you are a sucker for coopers, bronze, gold, coral colors as I am you will not be disappointed!

BLOG SALE FIND!!! LORAC Multiplex 3D SNAKE PALETTE

I was sooo lucky to stumble upon this quad on a blog sale.  I had never used LORAC before, it was one of those brands I just brushed by in Sephora.  So I said this is a good way to try the brand because they are quite pricey!

So when I opened the used bubble mailer and saw this beauty, The LORAC Multiplex 3D Eye Shadow Palette ($38 US), I scored it for $15!!!

As you can see, it has a holographic 3D effect, Its beautiful! It the metal label emblem, It appears to be made of heavy cardboard with a mirror inside. I would describe them as being multidimensional with that duo chrome effect and being extremely high quality and pigmented, pigmented, and pigmented. I would rate the palette 4 out of 5 only because they are all chrome in finish-I know some like a mix of matte with shimmers. I swatched them as you can see below:

  1. The 1st color which appears gold in quality has a tinge of pink in it and is great as the base or lid color, and is buttery soft when applying.
  2. This is a gold color which is as smooth as molasses! and goes great on the eye and very complimentary to dark skin tones as I am.
  3. The brown greenish duo chrome is the most unique color out of the palette. It actually applies leaning more green with the brown in the background.  I found on myself it leaned green with a burgundy hue in the background.
  4. The chrome silver which is one of the best silvers I have ever used, as I found it a color my complexion just didn't take well to but it works well with this palettes colors, and is very pigmented.
  5. The navy is gorgeous, it has that duo chrome effect and shines in all of it's lush metallic glory! I swear these shadows feel like liquid metal.
  6. The last color is a sparkly black and it has that consistent buttery texture with flecks of glitter throughout, appears green, gold and silver flecks. it is easy to blend. It is the only color in the palette with the glitter being so predominant.

Guerlain By Emilio Pucci Écrin 4-Couleurs Eye Shadow #13 Capri

Guerlain By Emilio Pucci Écrin 4-Couleurs Eye Shadow #13 Capri Palette ($59.00)

I was sooo elated once this palette arrived from Sephora this past week. I had been contemplating if I wanted it because of the ticket price but once I opened up that beautiful bronze box to see the felt pouch and then the palette revealed itself to me, I was sold

Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis in a Pucci Scarf
Once opened it reveals the classically beautiful Emilio Pucci bold Mediterranean printed design, which the celebrated designer started producing in the 1950's and became popular via Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis (above). You then remove this luxurious velvet pouch which encases a beautiful metallic high quality luxe compact.  It then reveals in all of its glory four beautiful colors:

1. The White color as I call it the highlight color is tinged with a slight golden gilded quality with shimmering flecks of gold. It is soft and blendable and absolutely illuminates the eyes. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

2. The Pink color is more so matte in finish and spreads on very easily and the pigmentation is on a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it a 4 out of 5.

3. The Coral color is divine, it spreads as butter on a warm fresh piece of toast. The pigmentation is supreme and it has flecks of golden shimmer. This one to me is the standout color of the palette. I would rate this on 5 out of 5.

4. The Dark color I would describe as an burnished luminescent flecked blackened bronze, which has a matte quality, and when I applied it, it was soft and super easy to blend without appearing harsh. which is why I would rate it 5 out of 5.

Above is the video of a look I created with this palette, I apologize for the shotty audio, and please subscribe and click "like" as I really appreciate any support and I support fellow bloggers as well. Thank you and enjoy the swatches.
