DIOR Diorskin Nude BB Creme - 0004 Dark ($44.00)

DIOR Diorskin Nude BB Creme - 0004 Dark ($44.00)

www.dior.com/beauty describes this in the following:
"A dream combination of skin care and make-up, Diorskin Nude BB Creme is the new generation complexion enhancer. Its light, melting texture enriched with natural origin skin care ingredients conceals only the undesirable and adjusts perfectly to all skin tones.
In a single step, Diorskin Nude BB Creme combines 5 indispensable actions in order to accentuate a fresh complexion with an astoundingly natural finish:
- corrects transparently
- lights the skin up with a fresh glow
- gently hydrates
- instantly smoothes
- protects, day after day"

I am glad I discovered this as I have oily skin and I work with it and not against it by trying to mattify. It's just not worth the trouble since my skin isn't blemished much at all just oily. I wanted something light that left my skin looking like skin instead of made up. I tried another brand's BB Cream, Smashbox, and it took away all of the natural luster of my skin and sort of ashy and i really didn't like the look as it didn't look like my skin at all! Once I wiped the Smashbox from my face and still had the Dior BB cream on the other side it looked just like my skin honestly, dewy and glowy. I love that it has a pump, It's secret ingredient is sunscreen at 2.19% I'm sold so far, as it melts into the skin and looks real as you can see in the blended out pic, it's undetectable and for reference, I am MAC NC45

Blended out, it's undetectable!

Chanel Joues Contraste Blush - #03 Brume D'Or ($43.00)

Chanel Joues Contraste Blush - #03 Brume D'Or ($43.00)

I found this color while lulling around the duty free shop on a recent trip overseas.  I was very impressed at 1st swatch! It appears on my skin tone as a beautiful cheek highlighting glowy color,as I don't find it very pink, its more copper on me with a sparkle. It sort of reminds me of a much more subtle NARS Taj Mahal.  I know that this was released in the Bombay Express Collection recently from Chanel.  This is a subtle hard to overdue beautiful blush!

Review: Guerlain Rose Aux Joues Blush Duo ~ 04 Pink Punk

GUERLAIN

VIDEO REVIEW ABOVE :)))

I recently acquired this Guerlain Rose Aux Joues from www.sephora.com.  I  have been stalking them for quite some time now and finally shelled out the bucks to get it as a Sephora VIB sale came around.  The site describes it in the following:

"What it is:
A blush duo that allows you to shade, color, and sculpt.

What it does:
Shade, color, and sculpt with Rose Aux Joues, a must-have for all women who are eager to have fun with color. Guerlain’s eye-popping blush duo offers vibrant color pairings that allow you to re-invent your beauty routine every day. One vibrant shade adds a pop of color to the cheekbones while its smaller counterpart can be mixed or used for a striking contrast"

Ingredients: Talc, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Nylon-12, Magnesium Stearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Phenyl trimethicone, Polysorbate 60, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, sorbitan Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Lauroyllysine, Parfum (Fragrance), Tin Oxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene, BHT, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Ceraniol [+/- MICA, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides) CI 15850 (Red 6, Red 6 Lake, Red 7, Red 7 Lake), CI 15985 (Yellow 6 Lake), CI 19140 (Yellow 5 Lake), CI 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), CI 73360 (Red 30 Lake), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77163 (Bismuth Oxychloride), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 45410 (red 27).

I found that this gave the most beautiful and luxurious effect on the cheeks the coral color, I found it to be great on it's own.  It is super smooth and pigmented and has a silky quality as both colors have.  The bottom color reminds me of NARS sin minus the sheen. It is silky smooth when applying and I simply layered it over the coral and it only made it more beautiful, not dull as i find they two combined created a really unique color. If you are of a lighter skin tone the darker color could be used as a contour for sure but for my tone it doesn't have an impact on its own.
The Rose Aux Joues does have a pleasant fragrance of rose I love the packaging as it is super luxurious and comes inside the felt sleeve all of it branded and it has the heft and the weighted feel of a high quality high dollar cosmetic. I rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

top: Peachy color, bottom: Darker color

Review: Guerlain Rose Aux Joues ~ 03 Over Rose

GUERLAIN

I recently acquired this Guerlain Rose Aux Joues from www.sephora.com.  I  have been stalking them for quite some time now and finally shelled out the bucks to get it as a Sephora VIB sale came around.  The site describes it in the following:

Ingredients:
Talc, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Nylon-12, Magnesium Stearate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Phenyl trimethicone, Polysorbate 60, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, sorbitan Stearate, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Pentylene Glycol, Sodium Dehydroacetate, Lauroyllysine, Parfum (Fragrance), Tin Oxide, Caprylyl Glycol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Benzoate, Linalool, Benzyl Alcohol, Limonene, BHT, Amyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Ceraniol [+/- MICA, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499 (Iron Oxides) CI 15850 (Red 6, Red 6 Lake, Red 7, Red 7 Lake), CI 15985 (Yellow 6 Lake), CI 19140 (Yellow 5 Lake), CI 42090 (Blue 1 Lake), CI 73360 (Red 30 Lake), CI 77007 (Ultramarines), CI 77163 (Bismuth Oxychloride), CI 77288 (Chromium Oxide Greens), CI 77289 (Chromium Hydroxide Green), CI 77510 (Ferric Ferrocyanide), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 45410 (red 27).

Now this one for me from my Guerlain haul was the least impressive as I wouldn't reccommend this to a lady who loves a super pigmented blush. As for my skin tone, I  really had to layer it up to get the color payoff that I seek in a blushI found the rose color to be way more pigmented than the other color in the duo.  It is smooth and silky as the quality is top notch on these as far as texture and feel. The top color does possess a slight sheen which I appreciate ;) The lower color had absolutely no color payoff for me but as far as the texture of it, it is smooth and silky so I layer it over the top color and it works.
