Review: Guerlain Rose Aux Joues Blush Duo ~ 04 Pink Punk

I recently acquired this Guerlain Rose Aux Joues from www.sephora.com.  I  have been stalking them for quite some time now and finally shelled out the bucks to get it as a Sephora VIB sale came around.  The site describes it in the following:

 I found that this gave the most beautiful and luxurious effect on the cheeks the coral color, I found it to be great on it's own.  It is super smooth and pigmented and has a silky quality as both colors have.  The bottom color reminds me of NARS sin minus the sheen. It is silky smooth when applying and I simply layered it over the coral and it only made it more beautiful, not dull as i find they two combined created a really unique color. If you are of a lighter skin tone the darker color could be used as a contour for sure but for my tone it doesn't have an impact on its own. 

The Rose Aux Joues does have a pleasant fragrance of rose I love the packaging as it is super luxurious and comes inside the felt sleeve all of it branded and it has the heft and the weighted feel of a high quality high dollar cosmetic. I rate this 5 out of 5 stars.

 Now this one for me from my Guerlain haul was the least impressive as I wouldn't reccommend this to a lady who loves a super pigmented blush. As for my skin tone, I  really had to layer it up to get the color payoff that I seek in a blush.  I found the rose color to be way more pigmented than the other color in the duo.  It is smooth and silky as the quality is top notch on these as far as texture and feel. The top color does possess a slight sheen which I appreciate ;) The lower color had absolutely no color payoff for me but as far as the texture of it, it is smooth and silky so I layer it over the top color and it works.

REVIEW: NARS Duo in Blade Runner ($34.00)

Blade Runner is describe as a shimmering forest green and a shimmering mahogany which I find is an accurate description. narscosmetics.com site describes them in the following way

These colors are richly pigmented and soft to the touch.  I find that they do match in a unique way as the mahogany goes well on the lid and the forest green in the crease to a part of the lid, but I keep the highlight shade a neutral with no sheen close to the skin tone.  That works for me when wearing it as not to look garish. These also look good as a wash of color on the lid.with either color alone as well, just keep in mind that these are very pigmented.

Okay When I 1st swatched these blushes, I found them to be rather lackluster on my hand, but I discovered otherwise on the cheeks...on to the review...... 1st-Angelic (shimmering champagne): I found that this gave a very soft glow used as a highlighter, it was subtle and finely milled which I feel attributes to the ethereal effect. 2nd-fantastic (soft f fuchsia): Now this one was the least pigmented on my skin tone, maybe it's due to the matte quality of the blush, and as with matte shadows, they require some building which is true for this blush, but one to the desired coverage as I missed it with the Angelic one for a pinky highlighter color. 3rd-magic (pink coral): Magic is my most favorite out of this set as I am a sucker for a coral blush, and this one is of great pigmentation and quality, it is soft to the touch and it is blendable and buildable as well.  It will give you that beautiful radiant natural blush look. Love it! 4th-Stellar (shimmering nude): Now this shade for me was the least favorite for me as it does have a glitter effect which I do not care for it in.  It is not the sheeny glow but rather sparkle glow, which doesn't look natural on anyone.  I f it wasn't for the glitter I would find it to be a very beautiful natural earth tone blush shade. I give this set an overall rating of 4 out of 5 stars as I take away one for the glitter quality of Stellar.
